ORELLANA WILD CARP FISHING PACKAGE DETAILS

The Legendry Orellana spans an amazing fifteen kilometers in length and covers 16000acres. Orellana was formed by damming a section of the River Guadiana in 1961. This river already held a large population of wild carp and barbel. The introduction of the American Crayfish has allowed the carp to place on phenomenal weight over the past ten years. These carp have the best diet and habitat of any carp anywhere. The stock consists of 90% common carp and 10% mirror carp with big shoals of double figure tench lurking about with them. The average weight of carp is 25lb and there are thousands of them that remain uncaught.

There are truly huge numbers of fish out here with 1000s of 30lb and 40lb fish. When it comes to hooking one up, we cant stress how important your terminal end tackle needs to be when one of these monster comes along. Our guides have been spooled by some unstoppable fish!! The biggest known carp caught is an 81lb mirror, so you really are in with a chance of an uncaught whacker! These fish are wild and fight for there lives - you have been warned. Orellana is Spain's and possibly Europe's premier specimen carp fishing venue. It is located in the Extremadura region of SW Spain.

Orellana has a mystical atmosphere about it, which gets under the skin of anyone who has fished this water. Set in a valley of outstanding natural beauty, this is a carp fisherman's dream location. The Guadiana River system has never been stocked so all fish are a wild indigenous strain of carp, and with the addition of barbel to over 40lb and shoals of double figure tench Orellana makes for an unforgettable fishing experience. Due to the fantastic water quality and abundance of natural food there is a plentiful head of monster carp in the Orellana water system. 100s of carp over 40lb are caught each year with the official lake record carp standing at 79lbs. Most of these carp in the Orellana have never seen a hook before and fight incredibly hard all the way to the net.
